Concentrate on 6 fundamentals for improved hitting.

The ProCut Power Training Program for hitters was developed with an emphasis on the fundamentals of batting. Whether you play hardball or softball, fast pitch or slow, from the Little Leagues to the major leagues; understanding and using the fundamentals is essential to your success as a batter.

To create the perfect swing, remember these six fundamentals - Stance, Wind-Up, Rotate/Bat-Lag, Contact, Follow-Through, Freeze to Balance. Here are the details, step by step:

3) Rotate With Bat Lag Position

Decision time! When you first get a good look at the ball as the pitcher releases it, you begin your rotation. A hitter's body needs to turn on an imaginary vertical line (axis) during the swing.

Rotation

While your body rotates, the back foot pivots with the heel pointing up and the shoelaces pointing toward the pitcher. At this time, the front foot should be flat on the ground and the front knee should be straight. This helps open up the hips and body, generating more energy and power.

Bat Lag

The bat lag (hands and the bat) are the last part of the swing before contact. This creates a short, compact and explosive swing with more leverage and power for the hitter.
